First I would like to say a rented a car with SIXT in Norway and had no problems. The same could not be said in Reykjavík airport.
First the rental office experience when we picked up our car was awful. They were upset we did not accept the extra insurance offered. We were then told that for a few extra dollars we could get a larger car. We agreed.
When we returned the car a small scratch was “discovered” on the driver side door. The supposed damage was not even visible a a foot or so away and did not actually even go into the paint. The representative went right to the scratch - an indication that they knew it was already there. I expect this same scratch has been used over and over to scam people who have no recourse because they have to catch an international flight.
All attempts to contact the franchise have gone unanswered.
The SIXT representatives in the USA said there was nothing they could do. I’m out $480.
Reason of review: Charged for damage I did not commit.
Monetary Loss: $480.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
I didn't like: That i got scammed.
